Summer Gasshuku 2025

  • Pine Ridge Scout Camp 1139 Pine Ridge Lane Makanda, IL, 62958 United States (map)

SAVE THE DATE!

We are thrilled to announce our first ever Summer Gasshuku, to be held over the weekend of July 25th-27th, 2025, which is open to all karate and kobudo practitioners, as well as any other martial artists who are interested in learning more about the fighting arts of Okinawa!

The word "gasshuku," which is written as "合宿" in Japanese, literally means "training camp," and that is exactly what this event will be! You will spend three days living and training alongside your fellow martial artists at the secluded and serene Pine Ridge Scout Camp in Southern Illinois. Leave the "real world" behind and immerse yourself in the martial arts!

* TRAINING *

We will be providing a series of training sessions, covering multiple martial arts subjects over the course of the weekend. Instructors and session subjects to be determined, so be sure to follow this event to stay up-to-date as details are released! The venue has three training spaces available; one indoor space, one covered outdoor space, and one open outdoor space. We plan to make use of all of these spaces for training, so be sure to bring sunscreen!
